In the World Cup, Spillane made his debut in 2000 . In January 2010, he won his first, and so far the only victory at the World Cup stage. In addition to winning, at the moment he has 5 hits in the top three at the stages of the World Cup, all in personal competitions. The best achievement in the final standings of the World Cup for Spillane is 7th in the 2002–03 season.
