Biography
John Favreau (née Jonathan Favreau) was born in Flushing, Queens, New York , the son of Madeleine, a primary school teacher who died of leukemia in 1979 , and Charles Favreau, a teacher of special education. [2] John's mother was Jewish, and his father an Italian Catholic with distant French-Canadian roots [3] [4] [5] . John Favreau graduated from Bronx High School of Sciences in 1984 and entered City University of New York , but soon left in 1987 [6] . He worked for Bear Stearns on Wall Street for a while before returning to college for a semester in early 1988 . Then he left college for the second time. To get a certificate, he did not have a few tests [7] . Having set himself the goal of conquering the film industry, John left for Chicago in the summer of 1988 , began to play in the troupe ImrovOlympic, but a little later at Improv Institute. After some time, Favreau moved to Los Angeles , where he began to play cameo roles in low-budget films.
Career
John's first major painting is Rudy (1993). On the set, he meets his partner - Sean Astin . And there, Favreau meets another actor, Vince Vaughn , who played a minor role in the same film. Favreau played D-Bob in this film, and Vince Vaughn became his close friend, with whom Favreau has starred in many more places.
Around the same time, John came up with the idea of a script, which he realized a few years later in Doug Liman 's film " Party People " (1996). In this picture, Favreau acted as a co-producer, and also played one of the main roles. The film received many positive reviews and at the box office gathered a good box office. In the wake of Favreau’s success, there is an offer to play a role in the film “ Very Wild Things ” (1998), which fails miserably. In 2003, Favreau played a lawyer, friend Matt Murdoch , played by Ben Affleck , in the movie Daredevil .
The main debut of John, as a director, occurred in 2001 - a joint work with Vince Vaughn in the comedy “ Everything is captured! "(2001).
He also directed the films “ Elf ” (2003), “ Zatura: A Space Adventure ” (2005) and, of course, the commercial [8] super hit “ Iron Man ” (2008) [9] [10] , which collected a huge amount in at the box office - half a billion dollars and in which John played a minor role, as well as his sequel Iron Man 2 . Favreau was supposed to direct the movie " Avengers ", which is a continuation of the series "Iron Man" and several other films about the superheroes Marvel Comics , but he rejected the offer, and even for the film "Iron Man 3" he did not agree [11] [12 ] ] . In 2017, John returned to the role of Happy Hogan in the movie Spider-Man: Homecoming [13] [14] .
