Coelidiinae

Coelidiinae (lat.) - a subfamily of jumping insects from the family of cicadas (Cicadellidae). Meet all over the world, except Europe. 126 genera, 1300 species. The medium-sized body is cylindrical (usually about 1 cm). The distal segment of the rostrum is cylindrical. Fore wings usually without transverse vein r-m1. Tibiae of anterior pair of legs with a series of macrosetae. Macroset formula of the hips is usually 2 + 2 + 1. The ovipositor is thin with a median dorsal tooth. Edeagus is usually linear in shape. They live in forests, most often on trees and shrubs. Similar to the subfamilies Deltocephalinae and Tartessinae [1] . Body length 4.5–13.5 mm [2] . Burmese amber Cretacoelidia viraktamathi is the only fossil subfamily found [3] .
