Career
Club
Since 1995, he studied football in the school " Sion ", made his debut at the adult level in the 2002/03 season . With this club, he won only one trophy - the Swiss Cup in the 2005/06 season .
July 14, 2007 was bought by the English club " Manchester City ", while the head coach of the "townspeople" Sven-Goran Eriksson called him the best young player in Switzerland [2] , and the cost of the transition was the second largest in the history of the Swiss Super League (about £ 4 200,000) [3] .

Gelson was captain of the youth team in Switzerland. [2] He made his debut for the country's main national team on August 22, 2007, in a match against the Netherlands . He spent all three matches of his national team at Euro 2008 home. The first goal at the international level was scored on March 28, 2009, hitting his head after a pass from the corner gate of the Moldavian national team as part of the qualifying games for the 2010 World Cup , where his team eventually hit [14] . The second for him was the goal against Spain at that World Cup, which turned out to be the only one in the match and the only one for the Swiss at that tournament.
