PathEngine supports personal computers running the operating systems of the Microsoft Windows , Linux and FreeBSD families, as well as Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game consoles . [one]
PathEngine implements path finding and agent movement in a three-dimensional environment with dynamic obstacles. There is a dynamic control overcoming obstacles and automation of content. PathEngine Licensing Terms
PathEngine is a commercial software product created solely for the purpose of licensing it by third-party companies. There are three types of licenses for the PathEngine SDK, each of which differs in price and level of access to the source code. The cheapest license is “Binaries only”, its price ranges from 4,000 euros (only on PC ) to 8,000 (PC and Xbox 360 ). The second license - “Interface layer” - is available only for PC at a price of 8000 euros. The third license is “Full source”, which includes the maximum features of the product and the entire source code. PathEngine and its product history
The private company PathEngine is based in the French city of Lyon . The founder of the company is Thomas Young, who until the founding of the company worked for about ten years in the gaming industry , working as part of different teams on different games of various genres for different platforms. In 2000, he founded PathEngine, which immediately focused on the product of the same name. [four]
The first version of the PathEngine SDK was released in early 2002 [4] , and by the end of 2005 more than 50 finished products that used PathEngine were released. [five]
In mid-November 2005, full support for the Microsoft Xbox 360 game console was announced. [6]
On August 29, 2007, PathEngine announced the release of a new version of the PathEngine SDK at 5.11.
