Lipofilling

Lipofilling is a complex technique for the correction of age-related changes in the face and body contours, the essence of which is the transplantation (transplantation) of the patient's own adipose tissue from one zone to another. Today in Russia, plastic surgeons are engaged in the development of lipofilling techniques.

Types of Lipofilling

Face lipofilling:

  • Elimination of nasolabial folds
  • Elimination of the lacrimal furrows
  • Correction of the chin and cheekbones
  • Lip contour and size modeling

Moreover, lipofilling is actively used for:

  • breast augmentation
  • leg curvature correction
  • hand rejuvenation
  • buttock correction
  • lip augmentation and lip contour correction

The technique of introducing one’s own adipose tissue was approved by leading European experts [1] , and lipofilling itself was noted as the least traumatic way of correcting body contours - own fat is compatible with tissues and cannot cause allergic reactions and other complications.

Facial lipofilling

Lipofilling of the face is of great interest. With the help of traditional face rejuvenation operations, such as facelift , eyelid surgery , correction of lips and nasolabial folds, it is possible to achieve an aesthetically sufficiently toned face. However, in many of these cases, it is not possible to achieve true rejuvenation of the appearance. Therefore, the concept of a modern facelift is volume rejuvenation with the help of lipofilling. The lipofilling procedure does not exclude a tightening. Both methods are individual for each patient.

Lipofilling allows you to permanently eliminate such aesthetic shortcomings as drooping eyebrows, fuzzy contour of the lower jaw, "bryl". Face lipofilling is suitable for enlarging the lips, cheekbones, and chin. When there is no need to make plastic correction over the entire area of the face, then lipofilling is the best method, because by introducing the necessary amount of adipose tissue, you can add the missing volume to individual areas of the face. Thus, it is possible to simulate the cheekbones, chin, lips, etc.

Indications

There are the following indications for lipofilling: • the presence of excessively deep nasolabial folds and a lacrimal groove arising as a result of age-related changes - in this case, it is necessary to remove the nasolabial folds or make their correction; • insufficient fatty tissue in the lower and middle third of the face; • the presence of pronounced asymmetry and / or deficiency of the volume of the lips, chin or cheekbones; • age-related changes in bone tissue of the lower third of the face; • facial trauma. • Insufficient adipose tissue after eyelid surgery.

Lipofilling Result

Lipofilling returns youth to the face, while it has no age restrictions. Both men and women can do lipofilling. This operation is an opportunity to get rid of wrinkles, get rid of nasolabial folds, lacrimal grooves, restore youthful face without resorting to synthetic drugs. As a rule, chemical “beauty injections” do not give a lifelong result, because over time, they dissolve, and their own fat, subject to the transplant technique, does not resolve and retains a lifelong result.

The essence of the operation

The first step in preparing and planning an operation is to undergo a general medical examination, assess the patient’s health status, face proportions, and adipose tissue volume. As a result of the examination, a complete set of recommendations of the surgeon for the preoperative and postoperative periods is developed.

Lipofilling of the face is a surgical procedure of medium complexity. To perform lip correction and nasolabial fold surgery, local anesthesia is usually performed, sometimes the operation is performed under general anesthesia. The type of anesthesia is determined depending on a number of factors, such as the size and position of the treated area, the amount of fat injected, the patient's desire. Facial lipofilling procedure begins after processing the surgical field. The necessary amount of adipose tissue through small incisions is removed from the waist, abdomen or other areas where the patient has the required amount of fat.

Lipofilling of the face is performed using a special plastic syringe, in which the vacuum is created due to the fact that the piston and cannula are pulled out with a diameter of 1.5-2 mm. Due to the rounded end of the tube (cannula), when it moves back and forth, damage to the nerves and large blood vessels does not occur - mainly fat cells are torn off and absorbed. Then, the adipose tissue is treated and cleaned of various impurities, after which the adipose tissue is laid in thin layers in the previously designated areas of subcutaneous tissue, in some cases in the muscle space. At the end of the operation, the punctures are sutured, sealed with a surgical patch and a bandage is applied. Then the patient needs several hours of rest. The procedure takes no more than one hour, and the result of the operation is life-long. Another advantage of facial lipofilling is that there is no need for a long stay in the hospital, the patient can go home several hours after surgery. Compliance with the postoperative recovery recommendations of a plastic surgeon will help the patient return to a normal lifestyle as soon as possible. As with any plastic surgery, small bruises in the puncture area and swelling can be observed in the early days. After 1-1.5 weeks, you can forget about these unpleasant consequences of operations.
