World Fantasy Award ' or WFA (from the World Fantasy Award ) is an annual international award given for works written in the fantasy genre . The award was founded in 1975 and is awarded at the World Fantasy Convention . Awarded by a jury that changes every year. It is considered one of the most prestigious in the field of science fiction.
Until 2016, the winners were awarded a statuette in the form of a bust of Howard Lovecraft in honor of his outstanding achievements in the field of science fiction. However, in 2017, the figurine was replaced with an image of a tree facing the moon [1] [2] .
