Flaxseed flea ( Latin: Aphthona euphorbiae - a species of leaf beetles ( Chrysomelidae ) from the subfamily of goats ( Galerucinae ). It is widespread in Europe , Morocco , Turkey , the Middle East and the Caucasus . Adult beetles and their larvae feed on leaves of milkweed ( Euphorbia ) ( euphorbia ) [1 ] . Flaxseed flea is also a pest of flax . Beetles and larvae are harmful. Larvae eat flax roots in the soil. Flax fleas worsen the quality of flax fiber [2] .
