History

Karabanovo got its name, like many villages, by the name of the nobles who owned it, the Karabanovs. It was an old family, and their lands Karabanov, almost all being military, received for public service. Karabanovo was first mentioned in 1630. Then it was only a few huts, built on the right bank of the navigable at that time of the river Seroy. Over time, the village became a village, and the opposite bank of the river was built up. In 1846, a spinning-weaving factory was founded by the dynasty of merchants Baranov.

In 1871, Karabanovo and Aleksandrov were connected by a railway track. All shipments from Karabanov to Aleksandrov and back went by rail, but initially the cars were driven by horse-drawn rail. The first passenger train through the Karabanovo station passed on May 3, 1893 in the direction of Orekhovo-Zuev . And two years later, in the summer of 1895, the first passenger train passed in the direction of Yuriev to Kellerovo station (now Kolchugino).

The funds of the Karabanovs were laid in 1876, and four years later the Trinity Church was consecrated, Karabanovo officially became a village .

At the end of the 19th century, Karabanovo was a village in the Aleksandrovsky district of the Vladimir province , in which there were 4,580 inhabitants, 544 yards, there was a school for 240 students, a Baranov paper-spinning manufactory with 3,879 workers, a hospital, a maternity shelter, and a railway station. From August 22, 1904, its own mail began to work in Karabanov.

October 22, 1917 power in Karabanov passes into the hands of the Factory Council. In the summer of 1937 a church was blown up.

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR, the workers' settlement Karabanovo became a city from September 26, 1938.

Official Symbols

The flag and the emblem of Karabanovo represent the image of rolls of fabric on a blue background. On the coat of arms there is a lion.
