Kaspar (Gaspard) Kummer ( German: Johann Caspar (Gaspard) Kummer ; December 10, 1795 , Erlau , Schlesingen - March 21, 1870 , Coburg , Saxe-Coburg-Gotha ) - German flutist, music teacher and composer.

From an early age, Kummer took lessons in flute and composition. Already at the age of 18 he was a soloist of the court chapel of the Duchy of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha , and later ( 1855 ), after Louis Drouet left this place, he became its leader.
For flute composed concerts, variations, sketches. Among his works there are many chamber instrumental and church music.
The author of the school of playing the flute ( German: Anweisung zum Flötenspiel , Op. 42). Kummer taught both flute and composition. Among his students are flutist Wilhelm Popp , composers Friedrich Kiel and Felix Dreseke .
