Biography
Born in the city of Berdyansk, Zaporizhzhya region of Ukraine. Since 1927 he lived in Leningrad. Father is an engineer, mother is a housewife. He was engaged in drawing and sculpture at the Palace of Pioneers. In 1940 he entered the secondary art school at the Academy of Arts in the sculpture department. In 1941 he left with his parents to evacuate to Kazan. In 1943 he was drafted to the front. He graduated from a military school, receiving the specialty of a marine pilot. After the war, he served as an officer in the Navy on the island of Jagodnik, then worked as a military journalist.
In 1963 he graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Leningrad State University .
It has been published since 1965 .
He worked in the editorial office of the Neva magazine and the newspaper Leningradskaya Pravda . Member of the joint venture of the USSR .
