Content
History
Presumably founded at the beginning of the 20th century. According to the Alphabetical List of Populated Areas of the Don Region in 1915, the temporary settlement Plotnikovskoye belonged to the yurt of the Kalmyk village Vlasovskaya , the settlement had 29 yards, 103 male and 103 female souls lived [2] .
According to the 1926 census, the Plotnikov farm belonged to the Glubochansky village council of the Zimovnikovsky district of the Salsky district of the North Caucasus region, 220 inhabitants lived in the farm, including 202 Ukrainians and 18 Great Russians [3]
Geography
The farm is located within the northern slope of the Salsko-Manych ridge , which is a sublatitudinal extension of the Ergeninsky Upland, belonging to the East European Plain , on the left bank of the Small Gashun River [4] , at an altitude of 70 m above sea level [5] . The terrain is flat, the terrain has a slight slope from east to west in the direction of the Small Gashun River [4] . The soil cover is complex: chestnut soils are solonetzic and solonchak soils and solonetzes (automorphic) [6]
By road, the distance to Rostov-on-Don is 330 km, to the nearest city of Volgodonsk - 100 km, to the district center of the village of Zimovniki - 45 km [7] .
Climate
The climate is temperate continental (according to the Köppen-Geiger climate classification - Dfa ). The average annual air temperature is + 9.3 ° C, the average temperature of the coldest month of January is 5.0 ° C, the hottest month of July + 24.0 ° C. The estimated long-term rainfall is 397 mm. The least amount of precipitation falls in March (25 mm), the largest - in June (45 mm) [5] .
