History

In the years 1870-90 of the 19th century, the intensive development of the Salsk steppes began, small settlements began to appear around the Khutorskoy beam. The first settlers arrived from Ukraine and Central Russia. Kalmyks settled along the right bank of the beam; new settlers from Siberia established a farm north, called the Small Farm. By 1870, these three parts had grown together and became known by the same name - the village of Khutorskoye [5] .

According to the Alphabetical List of Populated Areas of the Region, Donskoy’s troops of 1915 in the temporary settlement of Khutorskoy, at military station No. 6, had 99 yards, 370 male and 368 female souls lived [6]

As a result of the Civil War and the relocation to the territory of the Kalmyk Autonomous Okrug formed in 1920, the national composition of the settlement changed dramatically. According to the first All-Union population census of 1926, the population of the Khutorskaya farm was 845 people, of which the Great Russians - 686, Ukrainians - 148. Kalmyks did not live in the farm. At the time of the census, the farm was part of the Kuryachansky Village Council of the Zimovnikovsky District of the Salsky District of the North Caucasus Region [7] .

By 1930, peasant farms were uniting into large farms. In 1932, a new collective farm was formed, which became known as the "Labor Cattle Breeder". In the same year, a new sheep farm No. 18 was laid north of the farm, 12 houses were erected on the site of the current central estate, and an elementary school was opened. In 1936, the school became seven years old. By the beginning of the 1941 war, the state farm had 25 thousand sheep. At that time, the state farm had 15 tractors, 3 threshers [5] .

With the start of World War II, more than 300 people went to the front. In July 1942, the evacuation began. The farm was occupied in August 1942, released on January 1, 1943 [5] .

In 1950, enlargement of small collective farms was carried out. Collective farms "Labor cattle breeder" and "Faithful cattle breeder" united in the collective farm "Victory". In the summer of 1956, on the basis of the Victory collective farms named after Vl. Ilyich, named after Dolgopolov, the Vostochny state farm was formed. But soon the Vostochny state farm was liquidated and the Pobeda collective farm became part of state farm No. 18 [5] .

In the 1960s and 70s, the social infrastructure of the farm was actively developing. In 1960, the building of the rural house of culture was commissioned. In 1966, the local school received secondary status. In 1973, a new school building was opened [5] .

In 1987, Ovtsesovkhoz No. 18 of the Zimovnikovsky District of the Rostov Region was renamed Progress State Farm on June 18, 1987. In 1990, the state farm "Progress" was renamed the State Pedigree Plant "Progress". In 1998, the GPZ Progress acquired the status of the Progress Tribal Plant federal state unitary enterprise. In 2005, the FGPU PZ Progress was transformed into the Progress Tribal Plant open joint stock company [5] .
