The village stands on the river Shalovka , rich in fish - pike, rudd, perch. Located at the junction of three districts, two kilometers from the Gorky Highway ( M7 ) and 3.5 km from the railway ( Oseevskaya platform). Nearby are the villages of Monoseevo and Nikiforovo , the village of Zeleny and the city of Balashikha .

There are 13 streets in the village - Bolshaya Polyanka, Vyselki, Gorka, Gorka, Zhivopisnaya, Zarechnaya, Kedrovaya, Maple, Lesnaya, Malaya Polyanka, Slobodka, Central and Yagodnaya quarter, as well as PZSK Rossiyka and Zvezdniy equestrian complex. 6 gardening partnerships (SNT) are also attributed to it [9] .

History

The name most likely derives from the non-canonical personal name Shevel, or from the surname Shevelkin. The village is mentioned in the Koshelev camp of the Moscow district in the "Historical Maps" of Veselovsky as referring to the beginning of the XVII century [10] .

In 1725 the village was in the possession of Prince Alexander Danilovich Menshikov , associate of Peter I. After the opals and exile of the prince to Berezov, this estate, together with other nearby possessions, was returned to the treasury.

In 1767, during the General Survey of Shevelkino's estate , Poedino, the identity was followed by a landowner - Princess Maria Ivanovna Khilkova.

In the middle of the XIX century, the village of Shevelkino belonged to the 2nd camp of the Bogorodsky district of the Moscow province and belonged to the guard lieutenant Andrei Alexandrovich Grushetsky (from the noble family of Grushetsky ). In the village there were 16 courtyards, 65 male souls of the peasants and 72 female souls [2] .

In the "List of populated areas" of 1862, the owner’s village of the 2nd camp of Bogorodsky district of the Moscow province on the left side of Vladimirskoye highway , 21 versts from the county city and 9 versts from the stanovoy apartment, at the Chudinka river, with 19 yards and 132 inhabitants (63 men, 69 women) [3] .

According to the data for 1869, the village of Oseevsky volost of the 3rd camp of Bogorodsky district with 25 yards, 20 wooden houses and 156 inhabitants (77 men, 79 women), of which 1 is a competent man. There were 16 horses, 17 units of cattle and 7 units of small, the land was 150 acres, including 80 acres arable. The main trade was silk weaving (39 men and 7 women) [4] .

According to the materials of the All-Union population census of 1926 - the village of Nikiforovsky village council of the Schelkovo volost of the Moscow district 2 km from Vladimirsky highway and 3 km from Monino station of the Northern railway, 169 people lived (75 men, 94 women), there were 34 peasant farms [6] .

In 1994-2006, the village belonged to the Medvezhye-Ozerskoy rural district .
