Kavskoe rural settlement is part of the Likhoslavl district of the Tver region of Russia . The center of the settlement is the village of Kava .

Established in 2005, it included the territories of the Kavsky and Kuzovinsky rural districts.

By the law of the Tver region dated April 17, 2017 No. 24-ZO ^[1] , through their union, the municipalities of Pervitinskoye and Kavskoe rural settlements were transformed into the Kavskoye rural settlement.

Geographical information

Total area: 150 km².
Location: central part of Likhoslavl district .
- Bordered by:
  - in the northeast - with Mikshinskogo SP
  - in the east - with Pervitinsky joint venture
  - in the south - with Kryuchkovsky JV and Vёskinsky JV
  - in the west - with the city of Likhoslavl , Baranovsky JV and Sosnovitsky JV

Population

In 2005, 1477 people live in the Kavskiy rural settlement on a permanent basis. The indicator increases in the snowless period (spring-autumn).

Ethnic composition: Russians and Karelians .

Former settlements

The villages disappeared on the territory of the settlement: Daniltsevo, Zhitnoye, Ievka, Krokutino, Ladonikha, Melenka, Podkino, Salnitsa and others.

History

In the middle of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, most of the villages of the settlement belonged to the Kuzovinsky volost of Novotorzhsky district of the Tver province .

In the 1940s and 1950s, Kavsky, Kuzovinsky and Zolotikhinsky Village Councils of the Likhoslavlsky District of the Kalinin Region existed on the territory of the settlement.
