The 9th World Ice Hockey Championship was held in Finland from January 25 to February 2, 1975 . The national teams of the USSR and Sweden scored an equal number of points, however, with the best difference between the goals scored and the goals conceded, the USSR team became the world champion for the ninth time in a row.
