Story
The film takes place in Bodin, near Austin , Texas . The main character of the film is Bliss Cavander, a high school student, a quiet woman, a lover of rock music, moonlighting in the diner with her friend Pash and dreaming of independence and independence. Her mother, Brooke Cavander, works as a postman, but dreams of seeing her daughter as the Queen of Beauty, and therefore constantly drags her to various contests. The father, Earl Cavander, loves his family and wife, but prefers to spend evenings in his van, where he watches American football on TV and sips beer. The family also has a younger daughter, Shania, who, unlike Bliss, loves beauty contests. Bliss and Pash dream of breaking out of their small and dull town. Once in Austin, in a youth clothing store, Bliss meets three roller skaters - tattooed ice-skating girls who brought flyers to the rollerdrome to store sellers. Bliss and her girlfriend go there the next day, and this dramatically changes the life of the main character. There she will meet her first teenage love.

The film featured 58 compositions with a wide range of styles and genres [3] . Nineteen of them were included on the soundtrack disc. Also, when buying a digital version through various online stores, additional songs were available. According to Allmusic , “The disc is a mixture of well-known old hits (including the great remix for The Chordettes' song“ Lollipop “) and indie bands (including former boyfriend Barrymore Little Joy) that create balance and personalize Fox Searchlight aesthetics” [4] .
