Biography
Born in a working class family. In 1945 he graduated from the Military Institute of Foreign Languages (VIIII). Candidate of Philological Sciences (1951), Associate Professor (1954), Professor (1967). Lecturer VIII (1945-1947, 1950-1957, 1984-2000). Rector of the Institute of Oriental Languages (IVY) at Moscow State University M.V. Lomonosov in 1957-1972 and director of the Institute of Asian and African Countries (ISAA) in 1972-1975, as well as the head of the Department of Arabic Philology, IEV and ISAA in 1957-1982.
In the mid-1970s, he was removed from the post of rector of the Institute for poor educational work: it was during this period that a whole group of students who went for an internship abroad (including Japan) chose not to return to their homeland.
He was awarded orders and medals of the USSR.

The author of about 100 works in the Arabic language, including study guides.
