She studied in Vienna with Louise Dustman , then in Paris with Pauline Viardot . In 1882 she made her debut on the stage of the Berlin Court Opera in the part of Elsa ( Lohengrin by Richard Wagner ) and remained a soloist of this theater until 1888 , when she transferred to the Vienna Imperial Opera , with which she was associated throughout her further career. She performed a lot under the leadership of Gustav Mahler when he was his Viennese bandmaster. She also toured in London , Paris , and Leipzig , in 1895 Elsa made her debut on the stage of the New York Metropolitan Opera in the same party, provoking a cautiously skeptical review by a reviewer who noted that the soloist was too nervous and therefore did not look the best [4] . In general, she preferred the Wagnerian repertoire, including Ziglind in Valkyrie and Venus in Tannhäuser . Left the scene in 1902 [5] .
