Mirbat ( Arabic: مرباط ) is a city in the province of Dofar , in the southwest of the Sultanate of Oman . Located 80 km east of the center of the province of Salalah . The population of the city itself is estimated at 17,305 people.

In ancient times, the city was famous as a port through which the export of the famous Dopar incense and Arabian horses went. Currently, the city is a fishing center, the season of which begins in the winter.
Many inhabitants of Mirbat have African roots.
