Identification (Chemistry)

Identification (from the Latin. Indentifico - I identify) - the establishment of the identity of an unknown connection with another known. For this, physicochemical constants , properties and reactions of both substances are compared. Before identifying the substance, it is thoroughly cleaned, its preliminary research is carried out: the aggregate state , color, viscosity are compared, tested for solubility in water, organic solvents, bases and acids , combustibility and other properties are determined.
