Biography
Born in 1922 in Moscow in the family of a military man.
After graduating from high school in 1940, he entered the 29th Moscow Aviation Mechanics School of the Air Force as a cadet. The training at the aviation school ended ahead of schedule: on July 7, 1941 N. A. Struchkov was sent as an aircraft mechanic for aviation electrical equipment to the 2nd Guards Orders of Lenin, the Red Banner, Suvorov of the II degree Chernihiv - Rechitsa Assault Aviation Division of the 8th and 16th Air Armies . He participated in the Great Patriotic War as part of the Air Force , fought near Stalingrad and Kursk , liberated Warsaw , took Berlin , and was wounded . He was in the army: from August to November 1941, from April to June 1942, from September 1942 to May 1945.
After the war, in 1946, he entered the Military Law Academy of the Red Army , which he graduated with honors in 1951. Here he met with Tatyana Alekseevna Grebenshchikova, teacher of the Department of Foreign Languages, who became his devoted wife.
After graduating from the Academy, he entered the adjunct department of the Military Law Academy of the Red Army at the Department of Criminal and Military Criminal Law, which he successfully graduated with the award of a Candidate of Law degree in late March 1954, defending a Ph.D. topic: “Combating bribery in Soviet criminal law”.
At the end of the post-graduate course, he served in the department of criminal law of the Military Law Academy of the Red Army as a teacher.
In connection with the abolition of the Military Law Academy in 1956, he moved to the Higher School of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR to the Department of Corrective Labor Law, and since 1958 he was the head of this department.
From 1956 to 1960 and from 1984 to 1987. worked in the Order of Honor at the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law as a senior researcher and head of the criminal and criminal procedure legislation department.
In 1963 he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic: “Legal regulation of punishment (the main problems of Soviet corrective labor law)”.
Since 1964 - Member of the Scientific Advisory Council under the Supreme Court of the RSFSR [1]
In 1967-1974 - Deputy Head of the Higher School of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR for scientific work.
In 1975-1984 - Deputy Head of the All-Russian Research Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR (now the State Institution " All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia ").
In the last years of his life (1987-1989), he was a professor at the Department of Management of Bodies Executing Sentences of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR (now the Academy of Management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia ).
N. A. Struchkov is the author of more than 300 works in the field of criminology, criminal law and especially corrective labor (penal) law. The scientist has an undoubted priority in the development of most of the modern theoretical foundations of the criminal-executive law of Russia. The results of his research in this area were reflected in the development of the Fundamentals of the USSR correctional labor legislation (1969) and the correctional labor codes of the Union republics (1970-1971), many departmental legal acts of the bodies executing sentences.
N. A. Struchkov created his own school for the preparation of scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel: he trained 48 candidates of sciences, many of whom subsequently defended doctoral dissertations.
December 13, 1989 N. A. Struchkov died suddenly; they buried him at Danilovsky cemetery, on a site near the graves of his relatives.
On April 28, 1997, the Department of Criminal Executive Law and Criminology of the Ryazan Institute of Law and Economics of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation (now the Academy of Law and Management of the Federal Penitentiary Service) was named after the scientist.

He was awarded 2 Orders of the Red Star , the Order of the Patriotic War II degree, the Order of the Red Banner of Labor , and medals of the USSR:

as well as foreign orders and medals. He was awarded the badge “Honored Worker of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR”. He was awarded the high title " Honored Scientist of the RSFSR " (1976).
