Brodsky

Brodsky - the Russian dynasty of sugar producers, industrialists and public figures of Jewish origin, founded in the early XIX century .

The first Brodsky sugar factories were built or leased in the Kiev province in the 1840s. In the 1880s The Brodsky dynasty owned 9 factories, in 1912 - 17 factories.

Brodsky - were one of the active organizers of the first sugar syndicate (1887) and the refiner syndicate (1903). Representatives of the dynasty also owned and operated enterprises in the milling, brewing, distillery and paper industries.

  • Brodsky, Israel Markovich - founder of the dynasty, sugar industrialist, philanthropist and philanthropist.
  • Brodsky, Abram Markovich (1816-1884) - a merchant of the first guild, a banker.
