Frederick Husler ( German: Frederick Husler ; 1889 , Utah - 1969 , Switzerland ) is a German vocal teacher.
The son of a Swiss and a German. When Frederick was 8 years old, his father died, and the mother with the children returned to Europe. Husler grew up in Munich and chose a career as a vocalist, although natural voice data did not predispose to this. Nevertheless, he achieved certain successes and in 1914 he sang under the direction of Bruno Walter . However, Husler's main career was pedagogical: already at the end of the 1910s. he was exclusively in demand in Munich as a vocal teacher, and in 1922 he moved to Berlin , where he headed the vocal department of the Stern Conservatory and, in agreement with the conductor Otto Klemperer , received under his leadership the entire composition of the Krol Opera singers, among whom were in particular, Yarmila Novotna , Kete Hydersbach , Iso Goland , - later Husler warmly recalled the atmosphere of genuine artistic competition established in the team, free from jealousy and selfishness [1] . In 1946 , he was one of the founders of the Music Academy of North-West Germany in Detmold , where he taught until 1961 . He spent his last years in Switzerland teaching in his own small vocal school.
