Story
Meg, Joe, Beth, and Amy are the four loving sisters March living with their mother in Gettysburg during the Civil War . Their father, a military doctor, is at the front. After a terrible battle, the Confederates passed through their city and burned it along with their home. Homeless and poor, they go to Concord , where my father’s aunt lived. March hopes the old woman will help them. Girls try to adapt to a new life, face many difficulties, and meet new friends. Mr. March was later wounded in battle and hospitalized in Washington , and towards the end he returns to his family.
Criticism
In The Anime Encyclopedia, the series is named the best anime adaptation of Louise May Alcott ’s novel, despite, and perhaps even largely due to, a strong shuffle of the order of events made by screenwriter Akira Miyazaki. For example, the initial events of the book occur only in the 18-20 series. [one]
