Ai Shoujo Pollyanna Monogatari

Pollyanna ( 愛 少女 ポ リ ア ン ナ 物語 Ai sho: jo Porianna monogatari , “The Story of Pollyanna, Girls of Love”) - an anime directed by Kozo Kusuba from the series “ Theater of World Masterpieces ”, consists of 51 series. After the premiere on Fuji TV between January 12 to December 28, 1986 , it was also shown across Japan on Animax since February 2007. [1]

The series is based on the novel " Pollyanna " by Elinor Porter . The script is written by Japanese authors Saiko Kumasen and Tamao Kunihiro. [2] The action takes place in America in the 1920s. Eleven-year-old Pollyanna, an orphaned daughter of a pastor, goes to live with her aunt Polly. Aunt does not like children, but eventually begins to feel sympathy for the girl. [2]
