Golos of Uzbekistan ( Uzbeks. O'zbekiston ovozi / Uzbekistan ) is a republican political newspaper in Uzbek and Russian languages. Since 1991, it has been the official press organ of the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan .

The newspaper began to be published on June 21, 1918 in Tashkent , initially under the name "Ishtirokyun" ( Communist ), as the organ of the regional bureau. In 1920, the newspaper was renamed “Izil Bayrok” ( Red flag ), two years later, in 1922, changed its name to “Turkiston” ( Turkestan ), and in 1924, after the formation of the Uzbek SSR, it became known as “Iziz Uzbekistan” ( Red Uzbekistan ). In 1958, the newspaper was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor . In 1964, it was renamed “Council of Uzbekistan” ( Soviet Uzbekistan ). The newspaper was one of the official press organs of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Uzbek SSR , along with the Russian-language newspaper Pravda Vostoka and the Tajik-language newspaper Khakikati Uzbekistan . In Soviet times, the newspaper was published daily, the circulation of the newspaper reached 683 thousand copies.
After the collapse of the USSR and the independence of Uzbekistan , on March 5, 1992, it acquired its current name and became the official publication of the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan , which until 2004 was the ruling party in the Uzbek parliament . In 2005, the circulation of the newspaper was 10 thousand copies, and came out three times a week. Since 1992, it has been published in Uzbek (mainly in Uzbek Cyrillic ) and Russian three times a week, has its official website uzbekistonovozi.uz , as well as correspondents throughout the country
