Melbu ( Nor. Melbu ) is a village with a population of 2,143 people (2009) [1] , located in the Hadsel municipality on the Westerolen archipelago in the Norland County in Norway . Melbu is one of the centers of the Hudselea island, the second center is Stokmarknes . Melbou hosts the annual Sommer- Melbu Summer Festival.

Infrastructure
Melbu has a ferry service to the Lofoten Islands. The nearest airport is 25 km away. The village is located in the southern part of Hadsela Island.
