Biography
Nikolai Borisovich Berezhkov was born on November 21, 1922 in the village of Bolshaya Yega, Pokhvistnevsky District , Kuibyshev Region, into a peasant family.
Nikolai Berezhkov graduated from an incomplete secondary school and two courses in an agricultural technical school.
He was drafted into the Red Army in 1941 , and in 1942 he graduated from the Engels Military Aviation Pilot School .
Nikolai Berezhkov has been in the army since June 1943, and by January 1945 he made 137 sorties to reconnaissance and attack airfields and concentrations of enemy troops. During the flights he shot down 3 aircraft. In an air battle on October 24, 1944, he was wounded [1] , but managed to bring the group of attack aircraft he led to the airfield.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of August 18, 1945, Nikolai Borisovich Berezhkov was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal .
In 1945 he was demobilized, and in 1946 he joined the Communist Party .
From 1945 to 1946, Berezhkov worked as chairman of the Yeginsky Village Council, and then entered the Kuibyshev Law School .
From 1948 to 1959, Nikolai Berezhkov worked as an investigator and assistant to the prosecutor of the Kuibyshev district of Kuibyshev .
Nikolai Borisovich Berezhkov died on February 14, 1959 .
