History
The first representatives of cyclohexylphenols were synthesized by the American pharmaceutical company Pfizer in the 70s of the XX century. At the end of 2008, researchers from Germany found that CP 47.497 and its homologues were one of the main active ingredients of Spice smoking mixtures and similar [1] .
Biological Activity
CP 47.497 is a potent CB 1 cannabinoid receptor agonist and a weaker CB 2 agonist (unlike tetrahydrocannabinol , the main active ingredient in marijuana , a partial CB 1 agonist). The effect of CP 47.497 on animals is similar to that of tetrahydrocannabinol. The effect on the human body is not well understood.
Homologists
In the composition of Spice mixtures, the С8 homologue of CP 47.497 was found, which differs from the latter by the length of the side chain [1] .
