  • It dates back to the 1960s, when a wooden sports school building and a shooting range were built on the site of the existing center.
  • In 1997, the biathlon center began to undergo a large-scale reconstruction, in the same year the first international competitions in biathlon "Ugra Cup" (commercial starts) took place here. In December 2000, the following were commissioned: a stadium, firing range, stands that can accommodate more than 10,000 spectators, a sports school building, a ski-roller track, bridges and overpass, a sports club building, a hotel complex. In 2002, the construction of the modern building of the press center and new command rooms was completed. For the 2003 World Cup, the building of the Press Center of the CLS was built, in which there are 2 rooms for journalists with 200 workstations and ISDN connections, a room for press conferences with a simultaneous translation system. There are 22 commentary booths at the stadium. Since March 2004, the Coniferous Urman ski complex has been launched in the CLS, which has repeatedly become the venue for regional and Russian snowboarding and alpine skiing competitions.
  • In 2003, Khanty-Mansiysk for the first time in the history of Russia hosted the Biathlon World Championship ; in 2011 Khanty-Mansiysk hosted the World Biathlon Championship again.
  • In September 2009, a new reconstruction began, involving the installation of a new rostrum, the reconstruction of commentators' booths, and the transfer of the start line. To date, the old commentary booths, the north and VIP stands have been dismantled. Installation of under-tribune premises is being completed and preparations are underway for the construction of a new rostrum, under which office and technical premises will be located: the room for international judges, the competition office, IBU room, etc. Commentary booths will be located above the rostrum. There will also be new ski runs. It is planned to transfer the approach to the stadium and expand the start and finish areas. In place of the previous commentary booths there will be a reversal overpass. The underground tunnel will also be reconstructed and will provide access to media areas at the shooting range and in the finish area.
  • Since the 1999/2000 season, it has become a tradition that the Khanty-Mansiysk Biathlon Center hosts the final stage of the Biathlon World Cup .
  • On December 2, 2010, on the eve of the 80th anniversary of the Khanty - Mansi Autonomous Okrug , the Government of Ugra assigned the name of Alexander Vasilyevich Filipenko to the Ski Center. [one]
