Athletas
“Athletas” since 1993 participated in the championships of Lithuania . In the 90s of the XX century, the club was the main rival of Zalgiris and only in the XXI century it lost the status of the second team of the country to Vilnius Letuvos Rytas . “Athletas” four times took second place in the championship of Lithuania - in 1994-1996 and 1998. In international competitions, “Athletas” did not gain any laurels. In the 1990s, the club participated in European club tournaments five times. He made his debut in the European Cup , starting from the second round, and twice stumbled on his first opponent (1992/1993 [1] and 1993/1994 [2] ). In the 1994/1995 draw, Athletas started in the first round and managed to pass this barrier by stumbling on the second [3] . In the 1995/1996 season, Athletas made a lower level in the Korach Cup , but lost to their first rival ( Saratov Avtodor ) in the 1/32 finals [4] . In the 1998/1999 season, Athletas once again played in the European Cup , taking the last 6th place in Group A in the qualifying round [5] . Participation in all the Baltic League tournaments also did not bring the team success (among other things - the last place in 2007, the absolutely worst result among the Lithuanian teams for the entire time of the draw).
Ayschiai
The financial problems overtook Atlas in the late 90s [6] , and in 2007 the club declared bankruptcy. Formally, it was acquired by the newly created Ayschiai BC, which inherited its place in the championships of Lithuania and the Baltic Basketball League . The lack of adequate funding makes the team play mainly as a youth team, which does not allow Aischia to show good results.
