Geography
Located 111 km north of the state's administrative center, Raipur , on the banks of the rain-fed Arpa River, which originates in the Maikal Hills. The average height above sea level is 263 meters [1] . Bilaspur Square - 345.76 km².
Population
According to the 2011 census, the city population is 330 106 people [2] . According to the same census, the population of urban agglomeration totals 452,851 people [3] . Sexual structure: 51.45% of men and 48.55% of women. The literacy rate in Bilaspur is 87.29%, which is significantly higher than the national average of 74%. Among men, the literacy rate is 92.94%, and among women - 81.33%. The proportion of people under the age of 6 years is 15%. The main languages of the population are Chhattisgarhs and Hindi .
Transport
The city is an important railway junction. Bilaspur Station is the busiest station in Chhattisgarh State and the fourth busiest station in Central India.
