Etymology
According to one version, non-resident horsemen, due to some fear, overcame the deserted distance from the village of Ersakon to the village of Ivanovskoye with a transition to gallop and jump. The name of the village of Ersakon, presumably comes from the play on the words “lynx” ( horse running ) and “horse”. The transformation of these words “trotting horse” resulted in the word “Risacon”, which subsequently transformed into “Ersacon” [2] .
The Circassian name is translated as "the settlement of the Abatovs" [3] .
History
Aul was founded in 1857 , shortly before the end of the Russian-Caucasian war . The first settlers were Circassians from the Black Sea coast, who, as a result of oppression by Russian troops, first settled on the left bank of the Small Zelenchuk River , and then moved to the left bank of the Bolshaya Zelenchuk River , where the village is located to this day.
Initially, the village was named Abatovsky ( Abate Hieble ), in honor of the Shapsug nobleman Abat who led the campaign of immigrants. After the end of the Caucasian war, the village began to replenish due to immigrants from other nearby villages.
In 1925, the village of Abatovsky was renamed like other Circassian villages, due to the presence in their names of the names of princely and noble families. As a result, the village received its current name Ersacon.
In 1935-1953, Ersakon was the center of the Kuva district of the Cherkess Autonomous Region .
Since 1957, the center of the Ersakon village council , which also included the village of Novo-Kuvinsky and the Kiev-Zhurakovsky farm.
