He graduated from the historical and international faculty of MGIMO and graduate school of the Institute of Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1957). In the period from 1958 to 1967 he worked at the Institute of Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR . In 1963 he defended his doctoral dissertation "Marxist and bourgeois sociology about classes and class relations in the modern era."
In 1968-1972 Head of the Department of Scientific Communism, Institute of Marxism-Leninism under the Central Committee of the CPSU . In the years 1973-1974. Deputy Director of ISI USSR Academy of Sciences . In 1975-1976 Head of Sector of the Institute of Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. In 1977-1987 Editor-in-chief of the journal “ Questions of Philosophy ”. Since 1988, he worked at the Institute of Philosophy of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (RAS).
