Biography
Constantine III became king of Scotland after the death of Kenneth II and reigned for only eighteen months, then fell a victim in the civil war. He died in the battle of Ratinveramond , which is located at the confluence of the rivers Almond and Tay . The opponents of Constantine's chronicles are called Kenneth Mack of Malcolm, but this is obviously a mistake, and Kenneth Mack Duf should have been. The epithet "Lysy" as applied to Constantine III is found only in John Fordun , who may have confused the king of Scotland with his contemporary Eogan Strathclyde . Constantine III died childless and was the last descendant of Ed Whitefoot on the Scottish throne.
