Comalcalco ( Spanish: Comalcalco ) is a municipality in Mexico , Tabasco , with an administrative center in the city of the same name . The population according to the 2010 census was 192 802 people.

General information
The name Comalcalco comes from the words of the Nahuatl language: Comali-Calli-Co , which means a house full of food [3] .
The area of the municipality is 768 km², which is 3.11% of the total state [4] . It borders with other municipalities of Tabasco : in the north with Paraiso , in the east with Halpa de Mendes , in the south with Kunduacan , and in the west with Cardenas , as well as in the north it is washed by the waters of the Gulf of Mexico .

The municipality was formed on November 14, 1834 , according to the decree of Governor Narsiso Santa Maria [3] , it consists of 118 settlements, the largest of which are:

Economic activity
According to statistics from 2000, the working-age population is employed by sectors of the economy in the following proportions: agriculture, livestock and fishing - 30.5%, industry and construction - 22.3%, services and tourism - 45%, other - 2, 2% [4] .

According to 2010 statistics, the infrastructure is developed as follows [4] :
- electrification: 98.7%;
- water supply: 84.3%;
- water disposal: 94.7%.
