IBU Cup

  • The IBU Cup debut took place on December 3, 2005 (at the first stage of the IBU Cup in the 2005/2006 season) in Obertilliach, Austria, in an individual 12.5 km junior race, where it took 6th place.
  • In the 2010/2011 season, the IBU Cup took the 3rd place in the overall standings and 3rd place in the standings of individual races.
  • In the 2011/2012 season, the IBU Cup took 2nd place in the standings pursuit race.

World Cup Careers

  • At the World Cup debuted on February 28, 2007 - in the individual race in Lahti , showing the 52nd result.
  • For the first time, Shumilova got into the top thirty in the sprint race in the Czech Nové Mesto on January 13, 2012 (5th stage of the World Cup 2011/2012 season), where she earned her first cup points (11 points).
  • In the pursuit race on January 15, 2012, the result was improved to 24th place.
  • In the pursuit race on March 17, 2012 at the final stage of the World Cup 2011/2012 season in Khanty-Mansiysk, starting from the 44th position, Catherine improved the result to 30th place.
  • The 2nd stage of the World Cup 2012/2013 season in Austrian Hochfilcin for Catherine became a real take-off in her sports career. At this stage, she took 8th place in the pursuit, and also won the first podium in the relay at the World Cup (3rd place in the Russian women's team).
  • The best result at the 2013 World Championships , which was the first for Shumilova, was for her 15th place in the sprint. Then there were two 29th places in the personal races - in the pursuit and in the mass start, as well as the 4th place in the relay of the Russian women's team.
  • At the 2013/2014 World Cup stage in Hochfilzen, she showed her best result in the personal races of the World Cup, finishing sixth in the pursuit race.
  • At the World Championships in Kontiolahti on March 8, 2015, she set a new personal record - 4th place in the pursuit (started from 6th place).

Olympics

Shumilova joined the Russian team at the Olympic Games in Sochi [4] .

Participating in the Olympic sprint race , Shumilova collided with a Polish athlete Novakovska-Zhemnyak on one of the sections of the track, fell down and broke the butt of her rifle [5] , finishing 60th. In the pursuit, Shumilova improved her result - 47th place [6] .

February 21, 2014 as part of the women's relay team Shumilova won the silver medal at the Olympic Games in Sochi [7] (deprived of the silver medal of the 2014 Olympics due to the disqualification of Yana Romanova, Olga Zaitseva and Olga Vilukhina) [8] .

  • On February 18, 2012, Ekaterina Shumilova won the 12.5 km mass start at the qualifying rounds in Ufa as part of the 6th stage of the Russian Biathlon Cup.
