Content
Story
On the morning of autumn Sunday, a middle-aged actress called out on the street of Oliver, a homeless accountant, whom she mistook for a famous filmmaker. The meeting was the beginning of a chain of strange events that day.

Rewards
In 1997, the film won a grand prize in the Best Film and Best Screenplay nominations at the Sundance Film Festival of America. Also, the main prize in the Best Film nomination and the prize of international critics were won at the American Film Festival in Deauville . Nossiter’s debut in 1997 was also celebrated at the Cannes Film Festival in the “ Special Look ” program [1] , and was also included in the New York Museum of Modern Art in the series “New Directors, New Films”.
Interesting Facts
- The idea to make the film came to Nossiter after meeting with the poet James Lesdan and reading his story about how a middle-aged woman mistook the young director of the theater for someone else, and they spent the day together.
- David Suchet for this role was forced to gain weight by 22 kilograms, since his character, according to the authors, should be fat.
