The 13th World Volleyball Championship for Men was held from September 29 to October 8, 1994 in two cities of Greece ( Athens and Thessaloniki ) with the participation of 16 national teams. The champion title was won for the second time in its history by the Italian national team .

Qualification
Championship System
At the first stage, the 16 finalists of the World Championship are divided into 4 groups. The winners of the groups go directly to the quarter-finals of the playoffs. Teams who took 2nd and 3rd places in groups form 4 pairs of 1/8 finals, the winners of which also go to the quarterfinals.
