Biography
He graduated from high school in Baku . In January 1940 he was drafted into the army and sent as a cadet to the Baku Military Infantry School . In July 1941, the rank of lieutenant was on the Transcaucasian Front . He fought on the Transcaucasian, North Caucasian fronts, in the Crimea, Belarus, Poland, East Prussia. Participated in the assault on Königsberg and Berlin . He passed posts from platoon commander to deputy commander of the 164th Guards Rifle Regiment. The battles were shell shock, bayonet and bullet wounds. The last two years of the war, that is, in 1944-1945, he fought in the 164th Guards Rifle Regiment of the 55th Guards Irkutsk-Pinsk, Orders of Lenin, three times the Red Banner, Order of Suvorov Division named after Supreme Council of the RSFSR [1] .
The title of Hero of the Soviet Union Guard captain P.S. Korchmaruk was awarded by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 27, 1945 [2] .
After the war he served in Belarus and the Moscow Military District . In 1947, he was appointed to the post of commander of the 1st battalion of the 4th separate infantry guard regiment of the USSR Ministry of Defense (OSPO MO USSR) [3] .
In 1969-1975 - Military Commissioner of the Tushino District of Moscow.
Dismissed from the Armed Forces in 1975 with the rank of colonel . After leaving the army, he worked in Moscow until 1989 in various civilian institutions and in the General Staff of the Ministry of Defense [1] .
Memory
He lived in Moscow at 7, Marshal Rybalko Street . He died on October 21, 2010. He was buried in section 109 at the Mitinsky cemetery in Moscow.
In September 2016, a memorial plaque was installed on the wall of his house [4] .
