This volcano belongs to the Kalgauch volcanic region of the Middle Volcanic Belt. The volcano is located in the northern part of the district, at the head of the right tributaries of the Kalgauch river. The absolute height is 1244 m. In terms of plan, the volcanic structure has a shape close to an ellipse with axes 6 × 4 km, area - 20 km².
The composition of the products of volcanic eruptions is represented by basalts .
