Köprüçay ( tour: Köprüçay ) is a river in the province of Antalya , Turkey . In antiquity, the river was called Eurymedon or Eurymedont ( dr. Greek Εὐρυμέδων ). The length is 183 km. It originates in the mountains of the Eastern Taurus Mountains, flows into the Mediterranean Sea . The amount of water in a river varies greatly depending on the season. A river with a winter flood , with a maximum in November - December . The lowest water level in the river in the summer, from August to September .

History
Near the mouth of the river in 469 or 466 BC. e. There was a battle at Eurymedon - a battle between the Delosian Union , which included Athens and its allies, and the Achaemenid empire under the leadership of Xerxes [1] .
In 190 BC e. , during the Syrian war (192-188 BC), there was a naval battle between the flotillas of the Seleucids and Rhodes , which performed in alliance with Rome . The royal fleet of Antiochus III under the command of the Carthaginian commander Hannibal was defeated by the Rhodes flotilla [2] .
