Seyhan originates from Mount Tahtal in the province of Sivas. The height of the source is 1500 m above sea level. Has a number of large tributaries. It flows into the Mediterranean Sea at Cape Delhi, has a well-developed delta.
In the lower reaches of the river several dams for irrigation and power generation were built. A river with a winter flood , with a maximum in November - December . The lowest water level in the river in the summer , from August to September .
