Geographical position
The urban-type village of Kovsharovka is located on the left bank of the Oskol River, the Kupyansk-Uzlovoy settlement is located upstream at a distance of 1.5 km, the village of Glushkovka is located downstream at a distance of 7 km, and the village of Osinovo is on the opposite bank. The drying river "Dubovka" flows through the village, upstream of which the village of Novoosinovo adjoins. Nearby is the railway station Razvezd Kovsharovka . Large forests are adjacent to the village.
History
In 1963-1967 in Kovsharovka, the Kupyansky foundry was built and commissioned, which led to the growth of the village.
In 1970, as a result of the merger of the villages of Pritulova, Zaborovka and Kovsharovka, an urban village of Kovsharovka appeared.
In January 1989, the population was23,772 people [2] , according to the 2001 census - 20 729 people , as of January 1, 2013 - 19 422 people [3] .
