Apple Pippin Back

When Bandai Pippin was released in ( 1995 in Japan ; 1996 in the USA ), the console market was long occupied by PlayStation and Sega Saturn , which were much more powerful than Pippin. In addition, there was very little software for Pippin, and its only manufacturer was Bandai . Costing $ 599 at launch and touted as a cheap computer, the system was more positioned as a game console, but was very expensive compared to other consoles.

Finally, Pippin was technologically weak, as it was the last player in the 3D generation of gaming systems. The Bandai version died quickly, with an extremely limited edition in the US and Japan .

In May 2006, Pippin was named PC World Magazine as one of the 25 worst tech products of all time. [2]
