Plokhinsky volost is an administrative-territorial unit in the Zhizdrinsky district of Kaluga (since 1920 - Bryansk ) province.

The administrative center is the village of Plokhino .
History
The volost was formed during the reform of 1861 . There were 9 villages on the territory of the volost: the villages of Dmitrovka , Dubna , Dudorovo 1st (Karablinka) , Dudorovo 2nd , Obukhovo and Staritsa , the villages of Medynskoye , Nikitsky (Shopino) and Plokhino . The population of the volost was in 1880 - 6967 [1] , in 1896 - 8683 [2] , in 1913 - 12 169 [3] , in 1920 - 7992 people [4] .
In the 1920s , with the enlargement of volosts, the neighboring Krapivenskaya, Sopovskaya and Kholmischensky volosts were added to the Plokhinsky volost. The structure of the enlarged volost included 53 villages, its area increased to 579 km², and the population was 30 513 people [5] . In 1928, the population of the volost reached 31.3 thousand people [6] .
As of January 1, 1928 , the Plokhinsky volost included the following village councils: Afanasovsky, Bobrovsky, Brusnyansky, Vesninsky, Vyazovsky, Krapivensky, Medyntsevsky, Melikhovsky, Nikitinsky, Obukhovsky, Ozerensky, Plokhinsky, Sopovsky, Staritsky, Kholmschinsky, 6 Chukhlov, 6 Chukhlov, .
In 1929 , with the introduction of district division, the volost was abolished, and on its territorial basis the Plokhinsky (now Ulyanovsk) district of the Sukhinichsky district of the Western region [7] (now part of the Kaluga region ) was formed.
