Biography
In 1238, the grandmother of Alain Gervez de Dinan , the mother of his mother Margarita de Mayenne , died, and then, in 1256, the daughter of Herveza Isabella , after which Alain went to the southern part of Senor Dinan . Until 1264, Margarita herself died, passing her son a part of the lords Mayenne and Bekerel in Dinan . Another part of the seignorium went to the other two sisters of Margarita, also the heiress of Jules II . A part of Senor Dinan in 1246 went to Alain from his wife Clementia de Beaufort, whose mother Havisa was the heiress of the northern part of Senoria. Receiving an inheritance from his mother and the dowry of his wife led to the unification of the two parts of Dinan, separated in 1123 .
In 1264 , Alain sold all of his land in Brittany, including North Dinan and Beckerel in Dinan, to the Duke of Brittany Jean I for an insignificant amount of 16,000 livres . Soon Alain II passed away. Then, his father, Henry II, took the steps on behalf of his grandson, Henry III , to annul the deal with the duke before the king’s trial in Paris . This process continued in part even after his death, when Henry III settled relations with the Duke of Brittany and returned part of his father's lost lands.
Most likely, Alain II founded the Cordille Monastery in Dinan, and not his father Henry II, where he was subsequently buried. Alain II was dead or left Brittany with his second wife, since after 1268 no mention was made of him.
