Creation

The author of the music and text is the keyboard player of the group Oleg Parastaev . The song was recorded and mixed in record time - in four hours, at the studio of Muslim Magomayev [1] by sound engineer Igor Zamaraev . She originally appeared on the 1987 Alliance 87 album . According to the editors of the music site Zvuki.ru , it is with this song that most people associate the group [2] .

Clip

In March 1987 [3] in Moscow, in the territory of Tsaritsyno Park, filming of the clip for the song took place. Since the members of the group did not like him, his publication took place only on April 5, 2019 on the YouTube channel of keyboardist Oleg Parastaev . During the day, the clip scored about five hundred thousand views, after which it was deleted as spam. On April 9, the clip was restored [4] and, as of June 15, 2019, had more than two million views.

Cover versions

In 1997, a cover for this song was made by the Krasnodar band Antenn MC together with DJ Jamm. There is also a cover of the band MED DOG [3] , released in 2001.

In the winter of 2007, Eugene Grishkovets , the “Curlers” group and Renars Cowpers made a cover for the song. The idea was born by Eugene Grishkovets: he remembered how shocked he was at the original version when he returned from the army in 1988. He first ignited the idea of Maxim Sergeyev, and then called for Renars Cowpers. At the very beginning, an original song is used, sounding from a tape recorder. When creating the cover, they probably did not immediately warn the Alliance musicians about their intentions [5] , but all the links to the song are preserved both in the official description of the creation [6] and in the video clip.

On December 30, 2018, the singer Monetochka [7] [8] presented her version of the song in the “ Evening Urgant ” program.

The composition is included in the soundtrack for the films Hardcore , Vacation of the President and Without Me , and also sounds at the end of the film Speakerphone .

Reflection in Culture

The song is mentioned in Victor Pelevin ’s novel “ IPhuck 10 ”:

Marukha was sitting in the kitchen. There, beautifully beautiful music played - one of the new Orthodox miracles, a sound analogue of the myrrh-streaming icon: a song in which, after many decades, the name of Jesus that had not been seen before suddenly appeared. It is often started in Moscow churches, especially during fasting days:

Heaven...
Nazarene ...
Voices call-ut me ... [9]
