Eric has been fond of high-speed assembly of the Rubik's Cube since August 2005. In 2008, at competitions in the Czech Republic, he set a world record ( 7.08 seconds ) in the assembly of the Rubik's Cube 3x3x3, [2] which has since been beaten several times. The current high-speed assembly record is 3.47 seconds (Yusheng Du November 2018).
In 2008, he also set several national and world records for the speedy assembly of other (not only 3x3x3) options for the Rubik's Cube. [3]
After he set a world record, Eric appeared on a popular television show in the Netherlands, whose name can be translated as 'I bet I can do it' ( 'Ik wed dat ik het kan' ), where he collected Rubik's cube with his feet for 1 minute 30 seconds and won € 1000 .
On his YouTube channel, Eric explains and shows off his skills in speedcubing - the high-speed assembly of the Rubik's Cube; he also has a guide to building the Rubik's Cube on his personal blog.
